Need a little more grazing restriction? The GreenGuard Diet Insert provides approximately 50% more restriction than the GreenGuard Grazing Muzzle alone, giving you another option for managing grass intake while keeping your horse turned out and grazing.
Designed to fit securely inside the bottom of the GreenGuard muzzle, the Diet Insert reduces the available grazing area while also providing a softer grazing surface and helping protect the muzzle from wear.
Materials & Sizes
Horse & Pony
Made from a soft, pliable, non-toxic, rubber-like material. Tabs on the insert push securely through the matching slots in the bottom of compatible GreenGuard Grazing Muzzles. Once installed, the insert is designed to stay securely in place while your horse grazes.
Mini
Our Mini Diet Insert is made from leather rather than the rubber-like material used for Horse and Pony sizes. It provides Mini muzzle users with an option for additional grazing restriction while accommodating the Mini muzzle design.

Customer service made it so easy to get our muzzle issue taken care of!
Everyone at GG I've contacted has been extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The advise and videos are very much appreciated. I recommend the products whenever someone asks about muzzles.
Koda and Rocky, my 2 geldings have no issues wearing their muzzles. They both adapted within minutes. It's especially necessary for Koda who has recovered from laminitis since last June. My vet did suggest the diet insert for this year. Working great.
Muzzle inserts are wonderful and soft against your horses mouth. It extends the life of your muzzle too. Love every product I have ordered.
I’m a happy Cowgirl.🤠
Built stronger and thicker the regular inserts.
I have a gelding that's prone to laminitis but usually does okay turned out with his GG grazing muzzle. This spring he was showing some signs of trouble (soreness from a laminitis flare up) so I got the diet insert for his muzzle. It did the trick and he is able to stay on pasture with his friends. He is walking soundly and didn't even seem to notice the greater restriction from his muzzle.
